Time for a long proper post, i can type to my heart's content, coz no one's at home so i can do my own things for awhile... I hope my sis doesnt come back early, if not she would wan to sleep and i wun haf to stop...
I took away my counter, its driving me nuts, giving all wrong stats... Bek cek... Nvm, at least now i can pretend lesser ppl read my blog... Lol
I wanted to write something about Full Metal Alchemist some time ago, but other things kept coming up... I also wanted to update Naruto, write about Bleach, etc... But then... Sigh... So little time, so many things to do... And also, i wanted to tok about LOTR, always, a never ending title tt i can jus go on n on... Lol...
I'll jus start wif FMA 1st, coz it got triggered lately...
I wanted to write a review on the FMA movie: Conqueror of Shambala, but then i realised alot of ppl haven watched it yet, so i wun touch on spoilers...
Long long post ahead...
Remembered i said tt FMA anime was so depressing... And the ending was so unsatisfactory? Not in terms of quality but in e sense tt it leaves u sadly hanging and not resolved, i hate stories lidat... Which is y i was so bek cek wif Inuyasha... But inu is different, tt one is confirm no more liao, sigh...
I went on to online manga read... I wanted to resolve e feeling so i went on to e manga... Coz i read tt it is totally different... My 3rd time, coz i dun like to read, readin is painful to me.. Be it books or comics, especially comics coz it is hard for me to read e chinese and also to feel chinese words... But of coz, luckily theres el trans 4 FMA...
My 1st was Tian Di Wu Yong, but i stopped after e 1st book, i saw e final epi of e anime though (e female lead died -__-") ... My 2nd was Qi Ling Wang (Chess Ghost or something), Sz lent me about 6 remaining books coz there were additional plot to e anime... I saw some DVDs concerning e last few books, but haf not bought them yet...
Arh, Qi Ling Wang is another one no resolution one, and a depressing story... Coz the lead ghost died... -_____- Or go heaven so to speak, but to me, he is gone forever, so it doesnt matter... And the main lead didnt even managed to say goodbyes or wat... The ghost vanished while e lead was sleepin, he called out to him but he didnt wake up... He also told him hes going to vanish be4hand, but e lead doesnt believe him... -____- Very bad, i cried n cried over e show tt time... Borrowed e series twice fr sz, i am going to own it next time... The manga is exactly same as anime though...
I digressed, ok back to FMA...
So the anime company came up wif a movie for resolution, but i heard tt they r coming up wif a 2nd series running... Not sure about tt though... But my heart has left e anime already, i will tell u y later...
It was screened end of last yr... So i thot i wouldnt be able to catch it (much like i couldnt watch e latest inu movie and i never did), i also dun do downloading yet then... So i went to look at 1st hand news about e review and also managed to find a written detailed story plot of e movie...
So i knew e story very well... And i was somewat satisfied except i would like to see Al in his human form... I was still in e middle of e manga then...
And then i found e 1st link to the download, but then, it was said tt e translations was all crap... So i searched n searched and finally found a hidden link to another link... I downloaded tt and holy shit, the subtitles were alright...
I did feel something about e show, but i already noe wat going to happen so i didnt tear... Actually it also meant tt it wasnt tt great lah... If not i would haf cried... E 1st scene tt i wanted to cry was cut abruptly and e feeling was lost... They didnt hold e scene for tt emotional impact, unlike e Nina part in e series, I cried like mad there!!!! Arrgghhh...
The endin is not totally a happy ending too tis time... But i was happy then, becoz i haven finished e manga... So i didnt feel much for a 3rd character (which they established badly in e anime) concerning the plot...
I dislike e movie for it related back to reality, Germany WWI, wa lao, tt totally spoiled e story, they drew Hitler differently too... Hmm, i saw e documentary of Hitler's story be4, they didnt even relate properly... It jus doesnt make sense tt the door leads to e future (our world) in jus a matter of tens of yrs of difference only...
I watched e movie many times though... And then i began to finish the manga...
All 55 chapters till today... Still counting till i becum old... Its like jus cross halfway to e plot only... Sigh... Still no idea about e whole mystery, and e whole world is guessing like mad...
I am also very impressed wif e FMA's artist, it was her 1st ever comic, and she already won so many awards... Wonderful 1st attempt... Her story was taken on, coz FMA was a very unique and different concept...
It was agreed tt e anime company devising a different story, coz e manga is ongoing anyways... So they thot of a whole different plot, which now doesnt really make sense to me anyway... In fact, it had lost e appeal it had on me e 1st time i watched it...
E main story starts to deviates extensively on the 5th Institute epi onwards... But be4 tt, alot of details were already different, and sequences were swopped for e anime compared to e manga... It was not going chronologically coz they didnt follow e manga...
But it is now very tough tt i noe 2 total different FMA stories, it is tough tt they run together... I sometimes get mixed up, i thot it was like tt in e anime but its not... And it is tough for me to tell e story to others... Coz it a total 2 different thing...
Some pts about e manga...
Ed
There was more character growth in him, and he grew up physically too gradually... He wasnt so good n talented like wat he was protrayed in e anime... At times (manga), he couldnt help at all, and realises tt his power was so limited... He also realised tt Alchemy wasnt everything... He was a human after all... There was alot of emotional strands going on in him...
And e reason y hes short. Not only e milk, e real reason was tt e auto mail tt Winry did for Ed, was to heavy, and tt it affected Ed's growth according to a automail master... And tt made Winry very guilty and swore to becum e best automail master...
He is also very smart as he showed his intelligence solving alot of hidden mysteries...
Al
Al is as powerful as Ed, but in e anime he was like jus a sidekick... Ed lost his memory after his soul was transmuted to e armour, and when he regained them, he can transmute wifout using e circle... In e anime, it wasnt clear whether Al is e real Al or not, coz Al ended up sayin it doesnt matter whether is he e real deal or not... But e manga resolved tis issue, it was very clear and emotional for tt whole chapter... And it answered my qns...
There was quite a time in e manga where they tried to help him regain his memory, coz he was e person who saw more truth than anyone else... Ultimately it came back when martel died inside him, it was a very scary chapter...
Their relationship was more special... When they went thru e door, their bodies were broken down and reformed, it was said tt, Al's mind was fused to Ed's minds... Thus, they realised Ed was eating more and sleeping more, and they suspected tt Ed was living both Al n his life together...
Winry
She was involved much more in e manga... She played a great part in e story... Her parents werent killed by Roy anyways... She did fell in love wif Ed gradaully and admitted it... It was a magical but sad moment then...
The door/truth
The door is different... It was similar to France's door of hell monument... And there is something in e door, a character... Rather creepy, my hair stands whenever i tok about him... The door of coz doesnt lead to any where, u can only learn e truth when u trade wif him... Very creepy...
There isnt any homunculus, e theory of e failed human transmutation becuming homunculus doesnt exist... They dun haf e villain Dante... No such character... Oh, and their father isnt as endearing... He is not a gd person or father, he was rather heartless... Pinako was very disappointed in him,... I wanted to bash him up in real life is he exist!
There are 2 homemhien, one is their father who seemed immortal, and another called Father, who created Lust, Gluttony, Pride... Their relationship is still a mystery...
Falman lost both his legs... Tt was a very dark chapter too... Very sad...
Envy is not a snake, Envy is a huge ass rotting gigantic monsters wif thousands of rotting flesh n bodies on his bodies... Every time he opens his mouth, bodies will drop out... Gross!!!
Gluttony when tranformed, his mouth will crack vertically across his whole body, laid wif fangs, and a similar eye from e door of truth... He is a fake door of truth created by father...
The 7 sins died according to how they die in hell from e bible... Currently only 3 sins died... The up coming sin is Pride and nobody noe who he is yet... A big mystery... Izumi's homunculus son doesnt exist...
When Nina was formed tt night, Scar killed her father Shou on e spot and then killed her... But Scar is generally a good person...
Roy found out e truth about King Bradley (he is wrath not pride), and tried to inform e military... But he soon found out, tt the military hgher ups all knew... Bradley was one of e many babies they took and groomed, isolated in a lab... Trained to be a king, trained to be e best, and then when they r old enuff, they injected them one by one, e philosopher stone into their blood...
All died excpet Bradley, who blended well and survived... (Very depressing chapter about e human)
Roy was devastated...
And the secretary doesnt exist too...
There were alot new sets of characters, who were chinese from the east... There is a girl Ran Fan, and her miniature panda Mei (cute like mad) , There is a prince Ling, and his body guards...
The story came to e pt where Ling (a good character) being infused wif philospher's stone willingly by Father coz he wan to gain power to rule as emperor... He became e new Greed, (Greed died earlier on, he was crucified)...
It was a very sad part, coz I found out Ling is one of the most fav characters among fans...
Barry the Chopper didnt die, (coz the author liked drawin his character and made him continue, lol, so funny when i read tt), he helped Roy n Ed for awhile...
Ed nearly died in the 5th insitute, it was envy who saved him... Coz Ed, along wif some other chosen ones are sacrifices... To wat, its still a mystery...
My fav part so far is tis...
There was tis part when Ed, Ling n Envy was eaten by Gluttony and thus got into e fake door... Ed had to do human transmutation to get all of them out... When he did, he saw another door, and then he saw AL (extremely skinny and had long unkempt hair)!!!!!! Al's human body, he was surviving... Ed was pulled into the door, and he called out to Al, and told Al to come wif him...
But Al said, "I cant, coz u r not my soul"... So sad!!!!
And Ed thru the slit of closing door shouted, "Al, u wait there for me, i will definately come back for u!"...
It meant tt Al could haf a chance of getting back his body... Barry's body was on earth but was rotting, there were 2 Barry, 1 his rotting body, 1 his soul in e armour... So Al suspected tt even if his body is somewhere it would haf rotted... But Al's body was somewhere in the door, so hes got e chance...
Tt scene was so touching if u can forget e anime... Coz for a long long time, u never see Al's human form...
Oh and e saddest moment, when Ed (hiding fr Al) went to their mum's grave to dig her corpse out (Pinako buried e corpse after e brothers' transmutation... And realises it isnt their mother at all... They lost their bodies n parts for nothing... He then asked Izumi to do e same, and her baby was also not her son... Sigh...
Also, e moment tt e "mother" monster awoke during e transmutation, e soul was Al's... Al was inside e monster body... Al woke up and saw Ed thru e monster's eyes...
The story goes on n on, i noe my pts are all over e place... But its a very complex story, and its tough pting out all the pts, jus a general idea... =)
The manga releases one chapter per mth, i duno how long i can continue... While i am desperate to knoe e story, it would take yrs for completion... It is tough to continue for so long...
