April Fools / Pearl Harbor

Yea, tt Neopets tax turned out to be April Fools joke... I did wonder whether its a joke, coz if u surfed alot like me... Yest, its like e whole cyberspace ganged up to post ridiculous stuffs, etc... Haha...

But then i did take in the joke coz i didnt noe their company can be so bo liao to do tt... Did up a user interface, do the scripting etc... Tt to me, is so stupid... Imagine ur Boss asking u do tt, jus for e sake of a joke... I would curse my Boss, coz its not funny at all... Ok, maybe i am e one having e weak sense of humour towards work... Lol...

But all for e joke, i thot they would make a big bulletin to screamed tt its April's Fool or a msg to say e bit at least... But then no leh, they didnt... Its jus tt the tax thingy was removed, tts all... Weird...

I watched Pearl Harbor again weeks ago on TV... For the 2nd time... 1st was in the theatre and i came out cursing... Lol... Coz i couldnt accept tt they turned an exciting war movie into a crappy love triangle... I was anticipating lor, e trailer was so entising... Didnt i already mentioned tt i love war movies?

Even though channel 5 has been airin tis movie for many times, tis was e 1st time i watched it at home... Coz i noe i am going to turn bekcek at e end of e show, so i refused to watch it... But then, since its been so long, and while i was switching channels... I realised tt the movie had already gone over 1 hr i think...

It had already passed those lovey scenes of Ben Affleck falling in love wif e prettiest nurse, Kate Beckinsale (i absolutely adore her, she is so pretty in tt movie), etc... Oh, not to mention, the lousy acting of Ben was more or less over when he crashed into e ocean, so i do not need to tolerate wif tt...

The movie was moving on to the part of Josh Hartnett (Aw, i love him so much, hes damn gorgeous)... Everybody was toking about Ben Affleck in e movie be4 e show, but everybody came out toking about Josh Hartnett instead... Lol...

To me, e last movie Ben Affleck truly acted was Armagedon, and tt was donkey yrs ago, when not many even noe who he is... Afterwards, his acting just couldnt live up to his fame...

I stayed on to watch it... It was focused on Josh Hartnett (Yea i am biased)... I was absolutely blown away and moved to tears on the part where Kate accepted Josh's love, then he flew e plane in the sunset wif Kate on his lap... She wore a red cheongsam... Absolutely beautiful!!!

I was moved more due to e music piece though... It blended perfectly wif e mood, so romantic... I ALSO WANT!!! I dun wan the war though! Its called Tennessee by Hans Zimmer, oh, Enya's Journey is beautiful too...

I already started sobbing when her another female colleague told her her own story to encourage her to accept Josh and move on... She told her her very sad life, and how wonderful it was tt all those bad encounters eventually led her to the man of her dreams... She was proposed later on but in the end she died... Sigh... I cried so hard there, coz its jus so sad... Happiness is jus within her grasp and was taken away...

But tts jus a small sub plot which i doubt anyone remembers...

Then it got rather exciting coz the war was about to start... But jus when my blood started to boil wif e flow of e story and the Jap planes flying over Pearl Harbour for the sudden attack... Damn it!!! It was to be continued the next day!!!!

Patiently, i waited and continued e movie... I didnt wan to be left hanging u noe... Then e war started and there was jus so much death... I started crying... It was a sudden attack, majority of ppl died... So much death, unwarranted...

U noe, last time when i watch war movies i dun cry, but i do nowadays... Tis few yrs, i empathise better wif movies... There was a time when i just kept watching movies and became so numb... I remembered i was watching Tears Of The Sun (one of e worst war movies), and there was tis scene where a pregnant black female had both her breasts sliced off and she was then just thrown somewhere to die slowly, and then a small boy raped her even though she was in tt kind of condition... She was vommiting foam out of her mouth...

It was a horrid scene and yet i didnt feel anything...

Coz ive watched too many movies i jus started to feel nothing and as a result, i watch movies for the sake of a routine wif my bfs... I dun find movies nice anymore... I dun laugh, dun cry, dun smile... I simply dun enjoy them...

But then ive changed tt some time back, and seriously put myself into e movie (no matter wat i watch), and ive crossed e numb period and started enjoying movies again... One noticeable thing is ive started to laugh at jokes, i usually dun in e past, coz chances r i dun find it funny coz its too lame...

So anyways, back to Pearl Harbor... The part where they sank their best battle ship, Arizona is very sad... It went into e bottom of the ocean and there were still ppl trapped alive inside but they could not rescue them, coz its too deep... Tts so sad... So they had to let them all die inside, slowly...

The President (is it President?) slamming e table at the board meeting, attempting to stand on his crippled legs, saying, "Dun tell me that its impossible!" is rather majestic, i thot...

But there is one part tt i cant stand... Westerners (i duno how they do their research) always lump chinese culture wif jap... For example, when they bombed Tokyo, the Tokyo they created, the shops and all are labelled wif full chinese wordings... No Japanese words at all... I am not saying there is no chinese characters in the Jap language, but it is impossible tt none of the shops or companys haf jap characters...

Besides, the chinese words were readable... But usually chinese characters do not appear full in Jap language and their choice of words are not similar to mandarin...

Its always like tt... Jus like Mulan, e animation, they mixed in so much Jap culture when Mulan is supposed to be based on China, i haf no idea how China could haf Japanese Lion Dance then... Seriously, i thot it was very rude to do tt... It is e same if i make a movie about america but i somehow lumped British culture into them and it looks seemingly amercians are like tt... I am sure i would be shot... (Not literally of coz)

Its like wat would ppl think if i do a movie about Malays eating pork, isnt tt being insulting to the Malay culture? If i am Malay i would feel damn furious!

But at e end of e day, as always, like they care right... Like ppl care right... Nobody even bothered about such things...

Ok nvm, move on...

The love affairs in e movie were perfectly normal for the open minded casual westerners, coz its their culture but it wasnt to me then...

I mean like, u r in deep love wif someone, tt person died, u date tt person's best fren and got pregnant, and then ur dead bf came back alive, u r confused but choose ur current bf coz u r pregnant(tts wat she said when she was asked y), and then ur bf died, so u married ur ex bf...

Duh...

But tis time, like i always say, when u watch at home u tend to be less damanding... Lol... I wasnt pissed, i readily accepted it, coz i saw it from another perspective which i didnt last time... The key issue is tt e Female lead is pretty, and supposedly e prettiest of the grp...

So it makes perfect sense tt the Best pilot would be wif her, but when he died (or so wat ppl thot), the pretty gal would continue to haf love opportunities, and coincidentally, the next best pilot love her...

Imagine any babes u noe (e prettiest of e course, company, sch kind) and y they seem to be forever in relationships... Chances are, whenever they become single... There would be tonnes of guys chasing, promising that they would be able to give her happiness in watever way she wans...

But it works differently fr average girls... Average girls take more time...

I am not saying tt pretty gals are superficial (though i seemed to be hinting tt), but wat i was trying to say, becoz they r pretty, they haf lots more opportunities... Or perhaps even more better opportunities (according to their own standards)... As compared to average ppl...

So it is inevitable tt they jus move on quicker...

U got to admit tt lor, jus take a look ard u...
